Matters of the Heart

Often while I am in the community sharing about Care Net Pregnancy Services of the Treasure Coast through presentations, luncheons, or fundraising events, I meet individuals who have made life choices while facing unplanned pregnancies.  These are spiritual and emotional matters of the heart that ultimately changed their lives and intensified their love and value of life.  As they tell it, their stories were life lessons that taught them a great deal about the human heart.

What do we know about the human heart?  Physically we know that in an average 80-year lifespan, the heart beats over 3.2 billion times.  Even before birth, a baby’s heart will beat approximately 54 million times ranging between 80 to 170 beats per minute.  An average adult’s heart will beat about 70 times per minute, 115,000 times in one day or 42 million times in a year.

Medically documented, the heart is the hardest working muscle in the human body pumping an amount of blood that equals approximately one million barrels in an average lifetime. Even when a person is at rest, the heart continuously works hard. © 2016 What to Expect

Spiritually and emotionally we know that the heart is also the source out of which all issues of life flows. Ultimately, what’s written on the tablets of our hearts can play out in our choices and actions from day-to-day.  Scripture talks about the intellectual and ethical core of the heart in Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”  With the profound physical, ethical and intellectual matters of the heart, we can understand in more ways than one why the heart is truly valued and protected for life.

These matters of the heart give reason to press on and to take hold of the inspirational testimonies of lives changed and valued beginning with our Babies of the Year”; Hayden-2006, Nekia-2007, Nicky & Joey-2008, Alana-2009, Jaden-2010, Gianna-2011, Aaleya-2012, Mariano-2013, Angelys-2014, Isabelle-2015 and Gino-2016.  Lives valued with purpose(Jeremiah 1:5 & Jeremiah 29:11)

On the tidal wave of life-changing inspiration, a great army of life fighters on the Treasure Coast is steadily increasing and rising up with record numbers as shown in the attendance of over 1,100 people at Care Net’s 2015 Banquet with $247,000 in pledges.  Additionally, more generous hearts heard the call to pledge at the 2016 Walk for Life held in March with over 800 in attendance.  Those pledges surpassed the $90,000 goal. And this year, close to 70 churches in the community have joined the Baby Bottle Boomerang, a community Outreach to ‘Make Change for Life’.  Over 5,500 empty baby bottles were distributed to the participating churches to fill with lose coins, dollars and checks in support of Care Net’s programs and services.  Some of these churches are joining Care Net’s mission and vision for the first time…

This life-saving mission is fueled with inspirational stories and testimonies from all walks of life. It is the church community, business families, and individual warriors with winning hearts of love, care, and compassion fighting for God’s divine purpose of life…it’s the human heart at its finest.

Please join us for every winning heartbeat of life!
